Hey Angel, I figured I ought to send you my well wishes and prayers now, I have been kind of withdrawn since I got my surgery date, and it makes sense with this aweful liquid diet! But It's all happening, for you, for me...Almost hard to remeber less then a month ago when I whined almost daily about the long wait. You will do great! Congratulations on your surgery date! I have some Zen Wisdom for you - Nothing exists but momentarily...One thing flows into another...observe things as they are, let everything go as it goes. This is to put everything under control in its widest sense. --- May God keep you close to his side as you travel your new journey. You will have ups and downs. You can always turn to us, your AMOS family, we will give support, comfort and encouragement. You will find this will be the best thing you could ever have done for yourself as well as your family. I know that was true for me. Keep us posted when you reach the "other" side. I pray for a speedy and easy recovery for you. Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly. We all like to see how we are doing!!! Make sure you take pictures. It’s great to see the new you emerge!!! Not to mention the look on YOUR face when you look at those pictures and compare them in a few months! It’ll be a BIG WOW!!! Please remember too, that this is a *tool* to use. Make sure you use it wisely. The first year it’s pretty easy, after that I’ve been hearing (I’m not speaking from experience as I’m not a year out yet) that it gets increasingly difficult. Hi Sarah! Big congratulations on your surgery date! I bet you are so excited! Just hang in there and try to be patient! Don’t worry if you are nervous, scared, excited or go through a thousand different emotions. This is all normal, so go with the flow! There’s really nothing you can do with all those feelings surfacing. You may start to doubt yourself and question your decision to have surgery. Just about everyone has had this happen to them. You’re making a decision to have a better quality of life and YOU deserve it!! That gut feeling or that little voice inside lets you know that you’re doing the right thing! Remember that we’re all family here and we’re ready to give you our support, lend an ear and not judge. You know you can always come here and get a dose of confidence and good will! There are lots of us who have had surgery and are in your corner rooting for you!! Sarah you are right everything does happen in God's timing. How are you doing? I don't have a surgery date anymore, I have to call Dr. Johnson when my hemoglobin is 11.5 and he will try and fit me in. I went to my pcp on 5/24/04 and it was only 10.0 i will test again nextweek to see where it is. Thanks for your words.

Hi Sarah! I just wanted to welcome you to the AMOS site! I'm so glad you found us and I hope you are learning a lot about the surgeries. We are like a family here and I can see that you already have made some friends. We're here to support each other, lend an ear and not judge. Many people are here to help you along the way. Don't be afraid to ask questions! We are all in different phases of our weight loss and can offer you many different opinions. Check out the site as it has so much information. You've made a wise choice joining AMOS and wanting to have WLS. You deserve to have a better quality of life. So, be diligent, do your research and decide what's right for you. Hi, Sarah! You posted a lovely message on my support page a while back. I didn't have a chance to respond right away, as I had surgery on 5/3/04 with Dr. Jeff Baker. Thanks so much for your encouragement and support. I've read your profile, and you are right - we have a lot in common (aside from the 10 year age difference ;o) You are a beautiful woman at your current weight ... but I think you've made the right decision for your health. I wish that I would have done this when I was your age. You have much to look forward to! Please let me know if I can provide support in any way!
