Hello all, I am in desperate need of information, suggestions, remedies. I had the sleeve in 2010. Last week I saw a colon digestive Dr, for stomach pains. I am always self-conconious about my stomach...anyway the Dr perform a procedure that basically stuck a tube down my throat to observe. Okay, I got two weeks later for a follow up, he tells me my esophagus is that of a 90 year out. I am 46. I have always had extreme heartburn, and took prilosecs for six years faithfully up until last week. He said is essence food is getting stuck in my esophagus!!!! I don't have any pain never would have known this unless he told me, however in retrospect; if I eat to much I will spit up a little of the food. I am nervous, scared and open to honest suggestions, remedies, has anyone else experienced this, if so what was done. In essence, he also said when this occurs it increases the chances of throat cancer, although very slim. He told me to stop the prilosec two months on two months off. I stopped altogether and have been researching home remedies such as ginger tea, aloe vera, baking soda, they have lessened the heartburn somewhat... Any suggestions? Sincerely, I am hopeful.

Greetings! I'm a newby. I'm just wrapping up the final bits before I'm approved for surgery. I'm very nervous and my anxiety is running high. What does everyone do to cope with this? I have to admit, I'm more than a little nervous.
