I wanted to wish you well with your upcoming surgery. I hope that all goes well and that you are up and out and about real soon. I'll bet you are are doing a happy dance accompanied by a bundle of unwanted "NERVES", but don't worry be HAPPY! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Good Luck!

Jennifer, I am not sure there is hope for family coming around. My experience was than no, they did not. My sister and 3 of my children were supportive, but 1 child, 1 brother and my parents were totally against me having surgery. My parents and brother were not around when I had surgery and never called or came to see me. And these are people whom I thought I got along with and whom I thought cared about me. However, My Mom and brother are overweight. I do not know if that has anything to do with it or not. It bothered me at first, and still at times if I think about it my feelings are hurt. I try to just think about how much better off I am since I have had surgery. My feet and legs do not hurt as before. I have more energy. I recover more quickly when I am tired. My life is so much easier now. There is not anything I can do to change my family's mind. But there is something I can do about my attitude about that situation. I can either let it hurt me, or I can enjoy my life as it is now and not worry about my family. I hope this helps. Janice

Hi there, Looks like things are moving very quickly for you and that is very nice. It took me so long to find a surgeon that my ins. co would approve and we still haven't gotton a "yes" out of them yet. I have my eval Aug 11th. I read your posted Question, one that I was wanting to ask. I am so glad to see so many women having children post-op with no serious problems.
