This time next week I will be at Holzer and either in surgery or being prepped for surgery.  I have read other posts that have said they had a few teary times before surgery, well this weekend was mine.  I just lost my Grandma( Mother) who raised me about 1 1/2 months ago and I've been busy taking care of things for her and getting ready for my surgery I feel this weekend it just hit me.  Her dying and my surgery coming up.  I cried on and off all weekend.  My husband was and is very supportive and I couldn't have gotten through this weekend without him.  
I am starting to get a little bit of a nervous feeling in my stomach.  By next Tuesday I will have a whole herd of nervous in my stomach. Ha Ha   Until next time.    Annetta

Last Friday I want to my PCP and seen her for my medical clearance.  Then this past Tuesday I went to Holzer for my pre-op testing.  I had paperwork to fill out at Dr. Grandia's Office.  I was weighed and I had lost 13lbs since I had been there last September.  Yea for me......   I had to have 8 vile's of blood taken and they did a urine test.  I went to Pre-Admission and pre-registered.  Then I had to go up to the 2nd floor and speak to a nurse who asked dozen's of questions.  Better now then the day of surgery.  Then I had to have a EKG and then a chest x-ray.  So now I'm all done.  I met with the Melissa the nurtirionist and she gave me a binder with alot of info. in it.  I will be on clear liquids while in the hospital then before I leave the hospital I will be started on full liquids.  I then will be on them for 2 weeks.  All the info. I got on Tuesday is going around and around in my head.  I have to sit down and get it all straighted out in my head.  I have to go the grocery story and stock up on  the things I can have for the 2 weeks after surgery.  Also the supplements I will have to take.   I have been doing extra cleaning at home trying to get things done before I have my surgery on the 10th.   I guess that's all for now.

I go to my PCP this Friday to get my medical clearance.  I think she's wanting to run a few tests but I'm not sure, I'll find out on Friday.  I want to welcome my newest friend.  Welcome.  Annetta

I have an appointment for my pre-op testing on March 27, 2007.  I will have the testing done and also see Dr. Grandia also.  That is nice that I can do all of that with one trip, since I live 2 hrs. away from Holzer.  I'm waiting on a call back from my PCP's office at to getting in to see her and getting my medical clearance from her.  If I don't hear from her soon I'm going to call her office again.  April 10th will be here before I know it. Yea Yea

Yesterday Linda from Holzer called me and gave me 4 different surgery dates to choose from.  I chose the closest one to now.  I then called my sister (who is going with me and staying with me and my husband at the hopsital) and she couldn't do that date.  Her son (my nephew) has a play that day and the next, and 2 people are going to be out of her office that week.  So I called Holzer back and changed my date to APRIL 10th, 2007.   YEA!!!!!!!!
I am now waiting for Holzer to call me with instructions of what I have to do next.  
Yesterday evening I attended our Support Group at Southeastern Ohio Medical Center.  We had a good meeting.  It's always a joy to see friends and to catch up on people's progress.  It's just amazing.

Yesterday I received word that I am approved for my surgery. Yea Yea Yea.  I am now waiting on word from Holzer for my surgery date and what I need to do next. 

On January 15, 2007 Holzer submitted my claim to Med. Mutual for approval for my WLS.  On February 15, 2007 I received my DENIAL, which stinks!!!!!!   I contacted Holzer and Jennifer said that what the Insurance is wanting is copies of the actual notes from my PCP while I was going to her during my 6 mth. phys. supervised weight loss attempt.  I contacted my PCP's nurse and she's going to fax these notes to Holzer.  

On Feb. 20, 2007 I called Holzer they had received the fax from my PCP and are going to submit an appeal to Med Mutual.  Linda is who I spoke to at Holzer and she said that Jennifer (who handle's the Ins.) feels that is what Med. Mutual is wanting and that once we send the notes to them that it will be alright.  I hope and pray that she's right.  Holzer hadn't gotten a copy fo the denial from Med Mutual so I faxed them one.   I'm so afraid that Med Mutual will deny me again, and I don't know what more they could want.  Please keep me in your prayers. 

1-12-07:  This past Wednesday I went to my PCP and she is getting ready to fax and mail my results of my 6 mth. physician supervisied diet to Holzer.  Coming to this step is making me having my surgery more real to me.  I'm praying that all goes well and my Ins. approve's my surgery.  Please keep me in your prayers.
