Hey Gloria ~ I don't know your friend's history and I really can't comment on what is doing, could be doing or should be doing. There will always be some who never take all the weight off or take it off and put it back on. She may very well have some problems with her surgery. I can tell you a bit about my history. When I was 27 I had a VBG done (1989). My approval came through very quickly and I attended my mandatory 2 SGMs. I took the weight off and went from 260 lbs. to 160 lbs. It took me about 18 months to get there and I had to workout a lot and not eat very much. My problem was that I was always hungery. I didn't go back to see my surgeon and over the next couple of years I went up and down on the scales... mostly up! In 1995 I became pregnant with my third child. I delivered at 246 lbs. and went quickly back down to around 200 lbs. My weight started to creep back up and then I heard about the wonder drug phen-fen. I took the weight back off and went back into my size 10 jeans... alas, it was not meant to be. Slowly the weight started to creep back up. I didn't continue to excercise as I should have and my eating started to get out of control. My husband and I decided that we would have one more baby. I was almost 3 months along and it turned out that my pregnancy was eptopic. I ended up having my tubes tied and now had the perfect excuse to not excercise and eat whatever I wanted... and I did. That was in 1998. I thought about seeing a doc and having a revision done. My husband wasn't thrilled and I put it on the back burner. I was back up to 245 lbs. then. Over the next couple of years I must have lost about 100 lbs., 10 to 20 lbs. at a time and the weight showed back up with more of it's friends! This is the last year that I intend to spend like this. I am now back up to 260+ lbs. My staple line is disrupted (not uncommon in this type of surgery as they didn't transect the stomach). I have all my tests done and have been attending tons of SGMs. I am going to make this work this time. I wasn't prepared for the changes that I needed to make the last time and I know this. I still question myself about it now. I am working being the best me that I can. I know that I can make this work for me. I hope this helps! Please feel free to email me with any questions/concerns you may have. Best wishes to you!

~*~I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.~*~Hugs to you~*~
