Bean Bag Blues
May 16, 2008
Have you ever seen a bean bag after the new wears off and those tiny little white beads start oozing out of it. It looses shape, sags everywhere and is pretty pathetic looking.
That's me.
I am the bean bag.
I'm glad to be losing weight and at 184lbs I'm finally shopping in the 'regular' ladies sections of stores and some juniors. But...when the clothes come off it's a sad sad thing to see.
My boobs droop, the inside of my thighs look like melted candle wax and my upper arms are positively awful. There are little flabby bat wings of loose skin hanging off them. YUCK!
Cosmetic surgery IS in my future. But for now, I'll just fold it up, tuck it in and wait until I hit my goal weight before I even begin to plan another surgery.

Hit My Jewelry Mark
Mar 26, 2008
YIPPEE!!! I hit my jewelry mark last week. What's that you ask? We'll let me tell you that something shiny, gold and big was my motivator to get under 200 lbs.
Everytime I went into a store I went right to the jewelry counter and started to shop in my head about what I would reward myself with when I finally hit a weight that started with a "1". I'm down to 190lbs and I'm wearing a size 16 pants and a XL to L top.
But you should really see my new amethyst and white gold ring with diamonds surrounding it. Looks like a large purple bird laid an egg on my finger. I used to reward myself with snicker bars...but nobody complimented me on my big ass.
Lots of jewelry compliments now. I can't wait to hit my next mark (150lbs). I have my eye on gold and diamond earrings!

New Photo
Feb 15, 2008
Okay,
I've added one new photo after pressure from a friend. However....the picture got scrunched when it uploaded and makes me look heavier than I am.
Why no current photos?
Jan 18, 2008
Someone asked me today why I didn't have any current photos up. I guess it's because I feel like I'm in transition and what ever I photos I post are not really "me" yet. I feel like I'm on my way but for me I think it has greater impact to see the before and after of someone. So be patient. I'm down 8 sizes, feel great, blonder hair and same blue eyes and same old sarcastic sense of humor.
Losing an Olsen Twin
Jan 18, 2008
We'll...I'm at 213 pounds today and my weight loss is slowing down somewhat. I'm not discouraged as long as it keeps heading in the southward direction. Losing 70+ pounds is like losing a small child or one of the anorexic Olsen twins. I'm not sure if it was Mary Kate or Ashley but they're definitely gone.
My top is shrinking much quicker than my bottom, just my luck. I'm hoping my middle catches up soon because it's really hard finding clothes that are small enough up top and big enough on bottom.
My hair is starting to thin a lot but I'm not that worried. I'm increasing my protein and keeping up my vitamins and they say it will come back. If not...oh well. I'd rather be skinny and bald than fat with a lot of hair. That's what wigs are for.

Wasting Away...Wishing it was Margaritaville
Nov 24, 2007
Okay...I'm really excited now! I was late for work today because I just didn't have ANYTHING to wear. What a dilema! Before I'd scream and pout and feel lousy because nothing fit. Now...I'm laughing, pulling clothes out of the closet and dancing around my bedroom because nothing fits!!!! Literally...nothing fit.
What's a girl to do? I called into work and went shopping of course. I have to wear business dress everyday so I couldn't get away with jeans. I was realistic in that I didn't go overboard but just bought a few outfits to get me another month down the road. Even my shoes are falling off. I always thought I had skinny feet but apparently there was fat hiding between my toes. I've lost a 1/2 shoe size, four pants sizes and I'm down from a 3x top to a 1x and those are big across my shoulders.
I spent the next Saturday cleaning out closets, drawers and anywhere I had clothing stuck back.
Well, I'm telling you that I can't wait to have more of these kind of problems. If only I could tolerate a big cold margarita to celebrate.

Week 3: KMart Never Looked So Good
Sep 25, 2007
Okay. I'm starting off at the top of week three post op. I can finally bend over to my knees. I'm not quite all the way to the ground yet but I'm working on it. Today I went to town for the first time in two weeks. I went to K-Mart. You would have thought I had been released from prison. I didn't really need to go or have much to buy but it was wonderful! I felt like I was on my way to recovery. You know you're feeling better when you can start shopping again.
Week 2: Just me and the dog
Sep 21, 2007
Okay. I made it to week two post op and just when I think the worst is over...here comes a bad day. My family has gone back to work because I can make my way pretty well around the house as long as everything I need is waste high. So. It just me and the dog at home. Our six month white West Highland Terrier decides to get sick. I don't know what she ate, where she got or anything but I wake up from dozing in my recliner and I get up to go refill my water bottle and YUCK!! My dog has diarreaha. There are all these little puddles in my living room floor and as I am screaming horrible things at the dog. Who immediately runs for cover into the next room which wouldn't be so bad except she still is "dripping" presents as she goes. So there is now a trail of poop all through my house. I go get the roll of paper towels and suddenly realize...crap...how am I going to get down there to clean up this mess? After bending, stretching and realizing that this ain't gonna happen....I go after the dog. Chase her into a tiled floor bathroom and there she stay howling until my family comes home and asks what are all the paper towels doing on the floor. When I tell them my story...they laugh hysterically at me until it dawns on them...who is really going to have to clean up after the dog. So for the next several days...the dog gets put up and I lose my sole companion during the day but I think it's worth it....considering the alternative.
My Story
Sep 17, 2007
Hi:
I'm six days post op and thought I would never get to this point. I started life as a small petite child but nearing adolescence, I started to get chubby. I was a fat teenager through middle school and hated those years! I never thought of myself as an overeater and can't remember a time when i was not on a diet. Going into high school I lost a tremendous amount of weight through diet pills. Looking back now, I realize it was such a dangerous way to loose the weight but there wasn't a lot of "talk" about healthy dieting.
I was athletic in high school but during my senior year I developed degenerative disk disease and had to have back surgery. 24 years ago no one was even talking about laproscopic anything so it was quite an ordeal for a 17 year old. I was flat on my back for four months and since that point, the weight crept up. Each year a few more pounds, a few more pounds and at 41 I've reached 274 pounds on my 5'2" frame. Needless to say I'm a pear with legs.
I opted for gastric bypass surgery several years ago but spent 3-4 years battling my insurance company. I finally got fed up...took advantage of the real estate boom and bought an investment house. I flipped it and when it sold, all profit went to pay for my surgery. Finally, on my birthday, Sept. 11, 2007 I had my surgery. Although I'm sore and achey....I would do it again in a heartbeat.
