Congrats on a finalized surgery date, Charlene! You have sure stuck with it all this time and now it's your turn to journey to the losing side! Clap Clap and hooray for you! May God guide your surgeon's hands and bless you with caring nursing staff postop. May your recovery be swift, smooth, and without complications. I just had an EGD done before my last surgery and it's not bad at all. They put an IV in and give you a touch of medicine to make you drowsy a bit although you may still be somewhat awake. They spray the back of your throat with Cetacaine spray which numbs the throat. So no gagging when the flexible scope is passed down. You are aware there is something in your esophagus but it doesn't hurt. And it seems to be over pretty quickly. I got to see the photos they took of my innards right away and it was kinda neat.
Be sure and keep us all posted! HUGS!
