I can't believe you preaching to Joann and others that she made racist and bigoted statments about some damn cuban cocroaches and there you are BASHING MIDDLE EASTERN PEOPLE. And I quote "I have a double whammy since I also have some MIDDLE EASTERN ancestry..lol (talk about blood thirsty!)"...Not all Middle Eastern's are blood thirsty...You make me sick with those kind of remarks. I am married to someone form the Middle East. Each time I try to see your side of the story and think your "not so bad", there you go again.

WHOO HOO!! I'm so glad your profile is back and that I can come in here on your surgery page and kick up my heels a bit!! ((((MARA!!!)))) You know you'll be in my prayers for the next round of hospital in your near future. (well, hey, if you didn't know it, now you do!) Pack all your girly stuff, and no you should not wear the stilettos on the first post op walk, OK? You're gonna do great, chica* best wishes, love and mushy stuff to keep the prayers moist, eh?

Mara as I read the boards each day and post, I came across your surgery page (you know I am always interested in others successes) talking about people blaming the whole cockroach thing on Cuban's. Not nice...perhaps not, but there are cockroaches all over the world. I spoke with a very dear friend of mine today who happens to be Cuban and pretty much uses the phrase Cuban cockroaches all the time. He does not see it as inflammatory to his culture. He, himself, along with his family fled the regime of Castro to America. The family was poorer than poor, but did that stop him? NO! Today he is a successful lawyer. He is proud of who he is and would never for one moment ever be offended by Cuban and cockroach being put together. Pretty much like Japanese and beetle being put together. I don't hear Japanese American's screaming about the two words being associated nor do I hear any African Americans protesting having the Africian killer bee associated. I don't honestly think the posts were meant to offend anyone. It was silly humor, but once again, I can see that as usual, you have taken this out of context and ran with it. So when you point the finger using the word "vermin" remember there are 3 fingers pointing back at you.

Mara, What a wonderful story!!! Bill sounds like a great guy. I had to laugh though...when I friest read your story and saw my "friend" Bill..I thought you were referring to BILL W as in AA. I have friends who are in AA and call themselves Friends of Bill W. :) oxoxoxo

Mara, I actually did catch your 2002 instead of 2001 post--but I knew what you meant, and we don't get bogged down in details when it comes to saluting our heroes!

MARA~~~~I AM SO SORRY ABOUT THE LOSS OF YOUR COUSIN ~~ Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy...... There is comfort in friendship...Hope in prayer...Peace in love....Praying for friends to comfort you...faith to uphold you...and loving memories to help you smile again.

Mara, I can understand you apprehension about PS. Been there myself. I had a TT and Breast Lift on Aug 22 and am doing great (beside the fact that I look like the bride of Frankenstien), but I was so scared and nervous about it. It was all over before I knew it! Just wanted to wish you the best and send you prayers for an uneventful surgery and very speedy recovery.

Emailed you a bit ago but had to give you a hearty hug and CONGRATS on the cool job opportunity. You are SO right. When I'm most in a rush, I make myself let people into traffic pattern, etc. It makes you feel so good about yourself. Thanks for posting that excellent reminder!
