Amy -- I just started my journey on the 10th so I am not speaking from experience, but my nutritionist says ONLY 2 to 3 MEALS per day and NO OTHER CALORIES. No beverages that have calories and no snacks. If you stop drinking 30 minutes before your meal and don't start drinking again until 30 minutes after your meal, your pouch should retain the full feeling until the next meal time. She has had some great successes so I'm going to be doing that.

Amy, Girl, whatchu doin' with my body? LOL I saw your full body pic on your surgery page and we have similar bodies, BMI's, our surgeries were about 10 days apart and we are both stuck at around 24 lb losses. Personally, I KNOW I would start losing again if I would walk every day to bump up my metabolism, but so far I am not. One thing I am doing though is eating a couple spoonfuls of oatmeal or something, first thing in the morning to tell my body I am NOT starving it. I do that every 3 hrs and am now trying to vary my food more. At night I allow myself to only munch on pickles...gives me all the chewing I miss and crave, with vitually no fat or sugar. And my body only knows it's getting food to digest so it doesn't slow down my metabolic rate. I also try to fool my body by moving as much as possible around the house....if I'm watching TV, I get up during every commercial and do something. I guess this is like the blind leading the blind but you might try cutting back on the crackers, drink more liquids (sugar free Crystal Light strawberry/kiwi is yummy) and read the label on the "unsweetened" apple juice you drink. I believe it is still loaded with natural fructose, which is sugar! I have only been trying these things for less than a week and I'll post to the board if they work! We'll break this plateau yet.....let's not give up!! HUGS!! Carol Percel

Hello Amy, My words of wisdom for you is simply that, It took us a bit of a lifetime to put this weight on. It will take a bit of time for us to shed it. Give it some time. Everyone is different in the way the weight comes off. You have to find out what works for you and go for it, stick with it, and maintain it. Once the weather breaks we'll get out there and walk, walk, walk. With the weather being so cold it leaves us no choice but to "hibernate" in the house. Im sure the weight loss will pick up and youll be on your way to a new beautiful you!!! Keep your head up and have faith. Love ya girl.....Melanie
