Well, here it is 8 weeks since my surgery, and I am down 46#. I weighed 221# today. I feel good, and can finally say that I am glad that I did this. I have noticed that when I come up short at the end of the day with the protein count, then the weight stalls. So, I am really concentrating on protein. It will be very exciting to be under 200# finally. One thing that I have noticed is that I get cold these days. My friends who are post-op also are experiencing this. Any tips or hints to deal with these chilly experiences???

Hi Rebecca, Congrats on your weight loss thus far :) The whole reason why the surgery works as a tool is because it limits the size of your stomach and thus what you can eat. If you eat too much, the food WILL come back up. For it has no where else to go. Part of working this tool is to NOT overeat now. You will not experience that same type of fullness that you experienced before surgery, and "full" feels different. I found that for myself, it was VERY important to slow down and listen to my body. The goal is to learn when you are satisfied and stop there. Hope this helps, Caroline (4 months post-op & -83 lbs)

I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.**Hugs**

Hi everyone. It is Saturday, and I am feeling pretty good. Almost back to normal. I am down 40# now, and people are noticing. I saw my friend who was so against this, and she commented that I looked good, and noticed that I had lost a lot already. Here is a question for anybody out there. Before we had surgery, I know that there were times when I absolutely gorged myself, yet I never vommited. Why is it that now, when I overeat, it comes right back up???? Any thoughts????

Hi Rebecca, Don't worry about the slow weight loss. It happens to a lot of us after the first month or so. It will get better and you'll be looking at GOAL before you know it!! BIGGHUGGZZZZ

Rebecca-Are you kidding me? 36 lbs gone forever at 5 weeks! Is that how quickly you have lost in the past. Congrats from a real slow loser! Lynda ME/FL

Well, here I am, 5+ weeks post-op, and I am still at 36# weight loss. What am I doing wrong? I drink my water, eat my protein, and am exercising. I started a Water Exercise Class last week, and am really enjoying it. I have also started riding a stationary bicycle on the days that I don't swim. Is it common to be so slow? I laugh it off, and say, slow and stady, but I really thought the pounds would come off faster here in the beginning.

Today is my 1 month anniversary. I started a water exercise class this week, and it feels really good. My scale today said 234#. I am down a whole pant size so far. Whoo hooo. I don't have much of an appetite, and it is still challenging to get all my water in each day. Any tips out there??? I go and see Dr. Skogerson on Monday, and had hoped to be down more pounds than I am so far. But, I suppose that slow and steady is a good thing.
