I am Below Goal??!!!!

Hi all,

I have been mostly lurking for a few days. Not sure why...but thought I'd share my news at least...

Today I was below goal! Couldn't believe it!
Wanted to write a post that gave some of my thoughts and feelings about it all, but think I am just trying to wrap my peabrain around it for a bit...

For those who are slow losers or have had a stall or 2 or 3 stalls or even more...I had a very long long stall, weeks and weeks, lost only 1 or 2 lbs for 2-3 months and then WHAM! started losing again...ALso, for the amount I had to lose and all, I did lose fairly slowly for the most part. So what I am trying to say is that for anyone that is having what they feel is a slow loss...you will get there...it will happen, if you stay on the road...not saying your path may not divert now and again, but that doesn't mean you have failed and can't get going again...don't give up...this works, it really really works!!! Don't compare yourself to others...(not saying I didn't do that sometimes) but it will make you lose your focus on YOU! You are unique and your path won't mirror most.
I have never been happier in my life! My body image has changed and I  can't tell you all how much better I feel. Sure, the saggy, wrinklie skin sometimes bums me out but I would not trade my smooth fat self back for ANYTHING.

I want to say more...say it better...but this is what it is and I have to get ready for work...

Last thing is I want to thank all of you for postings on here and sharing parts of yourself to help all of us. I can not believe how kind and caring and smart and funny you all are. Couldn't have got here without you guys, truly!

Thanks all, you all have a very special place in my heart...
Cheryl

Thanks, Judy,

I never did lose much a week. It was just a little here and there and finally all added up...
I'm sure once you get settled in you can focus back on you...

Congratulations Cheryl. That is awesome and a whole bunch of hard work.

Your words were good. We all need reminders that each journey is different but never give up. You didn't, you stuck to the plan and here you are BELOW goal.

Thanks, Annette,

It was hard to keep remembering that I wasn't so and so but that I was me and it would work...I always tell people who ask how I did it, as you know I haven't told many my real story, that it was lots of hard work. If Tom is standing there he always jumps in and says it. Specially when those asking are hinting about possible WLS. We just don't think it is anyones business. I'm not ashamed but I have had such an unpleasant experience with my former job that I just don't trust people with my personal info anymore.

Your support was always a major boost for me. Thanks again.

Hi Cheryl,

Congratulations on your success!

Thanks for sharing about the stalls. I'm just 4 weeks out but have a great fear for when the stall(s) will hit. I'm sure they will - they have when I dieted in the past, so I can expect the same now. They are very discouraging and it's really hard not to give up. I appreciate your encouraging words and with you well in keeping those ugly pounds off.

Hi Darlene,
I'm off the protein shakes and eat fairly soft food. Followng list the list I'm allowed:

eggs (1/2 scrambled), hard boiled or egg salad
any flakey fish (white fish, tuna & salmon)
1/2 piece of toast or 1-2 crackers
soft fruit (no skin) e.g. peaches, berries, melon, banana
soft veggies - cooked e.g. carrots, green beans, broccli, sweat potatoe
soft cooked pasta
soft cooked beans e.g. lentils, kidney, chickpeas (hummus)
light, no sugar added plain yogurt
low fat cottage cheese
unsweetened applesauce
loose mashed potatoes
loose plain oatmeal, cream of wheat, or grits

These are the additional foods from the first week of liquids and liquid foods

Hope this helps
Maggie
