My "Date" is approaching!!!
Hey Everyone!
My name is Dee and I have a "Date" for Sept. 1st. I had originally wanted the lapband but insurance denied and denied and denied so I am going with the VSG with Dr. Joya as a self pay. I changed to the VSG because I would be doing this in Mexico and with a band I would have to find a Dr. in the states to do my fills, etc. I think the VSG will just be a lot easier for me to deal with at this time. I am doing the pre-op liquids now and after the 3rd day, it has not been that bad. I have NEVER lasted this long on a liquid diet before....guess it is the prize at the end that keeps me going. I am getting very excited now and was glad to find some posters who are my age. I am divorced and do not have a home support system but reading your posts has really helped me a lot. I really enjoy the close friendship and support you give each other and hope that you will accept me into your group.
Thanks for listening.....

Congratulations, Dee. It won't be long and you are going to be joining us on the loser's bench. Be ready for a crazy wild ride. But I will tell you now that it is a ride that I would start all over again in a heart beat. You aren't going to be sorry!! I am saying prayers for a good safe surgery and a speedy and pain free recovery. I pray for the medical team too for knowledge and compassion. Just remember to sip and walk, sip and walk. Don't forget you chapstick because your lips get so dry.
Hi everyone!
I just joined this group too. I received so many warm welcomes, thought I'd pass a few along!
I'm still doing my 6 month diet, 5 to go. But I know when my time gets close I'll be excited, scared, nervous...but its a new beginning. And i just know its going to be great.
So, prayers for both of you that have upcoming dates. Let us know how it goes.

Darlene, I want to wish you luck for your upcoming big day. It is a wild ride and you are going to be so happy. I know I am and I wouldn't trade a day of it for anything. I am praying that your surgery goes well and that your recovery is speedy and pain free. I am keeping your medical staff in prayers too for knowledge and compassion. Make sure you sip and walk and take your chapstick for the dry lips. I still use it at 10 and a half months out. lol I like the medicated kind best. Just a thought.
