I would kill the ADEKs.....as time goes on you will see where you will be deficient....and it will most likely be D and K out of the ADEKs....the % in those are typically off balance. keep your eyes out on your lab work....and trend it to catch if you are trending down before you end up in the toilet.
If you have a specific question for me, PM me or I will not see it, as I don't check responses on the forums and don't have anything forwarded to my email.
if you have changed nothing with your intake of food and exercise, I would run to the drs....something is wrong....but before doing that...I would journal all my food.....

Vit K deficiencies in the DS community are very very common, it's just that the vast majority of patients dont know and drs dont order vit K lab work. Take a dry Vit K supplement https://www.biotechpharmacal.com/products/k1-1000-vitamin-k1 . I would take a 180 turn to the person who told you to eat more leafy greens...you could eat a field of it and it would make no difference. You will have to take a supplement as long as you have your DS.
best to you

Just about a year ago, I underwent the full on BPD/DS surgery with a great surgeon, Dr. Simper, Rocky Mountain Associated Physicians. I set three increasingly optimistic weight loss goals, as the weight fell off at an almost alarming rate. Within about 10 months of surgery, I hit the very lowest weight goal I had set, which was almost unimaginable. Having hit that goal, my focus now is to stay within +/- 5 pounds of goal, thus remaining at an entirely stable weight. It's easiest to continue to lose weight, whereas gaining weight is hard. To stay around the goal weight, I likely eat around 3,500 to 4,000 calories a day. It's not really possible to consume as many protein calories needed to maintain weight, and since we only process 20% of fat calories, that won't really get you there, either. Hence, sugar, taken in moderation, in between protein meals, seems to work best.
Recently, I had my annual cardiac doc physical and blood test. It was very humbling after all these years to see 100% of my tests reflect really a perfect or better score on all health metrics. The only one that I am off on is that I am little bit anemic, even with the vitamins. I have no symptoms from it, and expect that over time it will improve.
So, here's the upshot: If you are like me, you will be thrilled at your improved health and vitality. You will thrill at being able to buy clothes off the rack, and have them look REALLY good on you. Today I noticed that the world, and chairs, and car seats, and everything else got bigger over this last year. Everything fits comfortably. I've gone from a 5X to a medium and from a 46 inch waist to a 32" waist. It's truly a miracle. If you need to lose a lot of weight (like over a hundred pounds) and you don't want to suffer trying to keep it off, I think you will find the BPD/DS to be an amazing, life-changing, solution. Good luck!!
Just stick to the basics.....high protein, high fat and low carb (between 30-50g). Get your 64 oz minimum of water in daily and add more movement/exercise. Don't forget your vitamins! It really does matter long term. I am 17 yrs postop and am constantly reminding myself of this. Restricting your eating may be the issues since you are still malabsorbing a lot. Post DS, your body will always need more calories and nutrients to function.
I was at 208 at my lowest...but due to life, some health issues and the covid pandemic....I did regain up to 279. Yikes!!! So I began working with a local bariatric practice (not the one who did my surgery) to get me back on track. I did food logs and a little therapy, but the best thing that really worked for me was the basics - just focusing on getting at least 150-200g of protein, over 100g of fat a day, and all my vitamins. I am down to 240 and while I still have more to go...I know I got this under control.
Do you happen to track your macros at all? Perhaps start by doing a 100% honest food log...no matter what it is that you ingest, write it down or track it in an app. That way you can assess where your weak points/moments are and what you can do to address it in the future for long term success. :)

Thank you again for your feedback! No Costco around here but I did order some K supplements. At the very least, I don't think it can hurt based on where my levels are.
You're right - there are tons of personal experiences shared by people and everyone's body is different. I am grateful for the sharing, though. I've heard/seen a good bit about the enzymes by reading through the forums but it's not something I've tried.
Definitely do call my clinic when something feels off. I'm learning to be a better advocate for myself. Thank you for sharing, and glad you're keeping up with everything!

Hi Stacy,
I had Gastric Bypass two years ago! So, far, I have loss 171 pounds. I lose 2 pounds to 3 pounds a week! I continue remaining motivated with a strong positive mindset continuing being mindful of eating healthy foods which I have adapted really good.
I cannot and will not go back to the old eating habits which was the causing of me becoming obesity almost weighing 400 pounds. I was obesity for over 10 years!!! I overcome my obesity and I know others who battling obesity certainly can too! Thank the good Lord first and for giving the Bariatric Surgeon the knowledge and tools making Weight Loss Surgery Procedures to give us. Thank the Bariatric Surgeon.
I have been battling obesity over a decade it can be overcome! My true testimony I have overcome obesity! I eat blueberries ? and strawberries ð?" these the two fruits I mainly eat not a lot of sugar in these fruits. Blueberries ? helps you keep full and crave your appetite too eat less. I drink water/sparkling water. Those who had just had weight loss surgery cannot drink anything carbonated after 6 months of your surgery. But, check with your Bariatric Surgeon first always.. I eat bake chicken, vegan Pattie's taste like ground beef, salads. I just know to continue to eat my food in small portions and eat continuously in moderation that is the key factor to not gain your weight back. This is helping me to continue to maintain my weight and having great success continuing losing weight each week. If you decide to drin**** tea get the unsweetened or cranberry juice get 5 calories. The cranberry juice that says no sugar it taste to sweet for me so I just diluted with water or sparkling water! I hope sharing my story will assist you and others.
