Posting a picture

 OK, I am going to show my lack of computer/ photo ability. I have tried numerous times to download a picture for my avatar, but it always says it is too big and, I admit it- I don't knwo how to change it.
Any help/suggestons so I don't have to be a "faceless person is appreciated.

I bring up two windows so I can read the instructions as I follow along.

They use resizr.com  I was able to do it and I'm not very good at this stuff.  I just got tierd of always waiting to the DD's help.
