Photo Resizing and Cropping Tutorial

Photo Resizing

First, save a copy of your photo to desktop for this tutorial lesson.

Due to so many different types of photo-editing software we are going to show how to resize and crop images on-line using http://www.resizr.com/ After going to resizr.com you will have an opening screen like the one below.

Follow the 2 steps above to upload the image to be resized.

My image happens to be 276 pixels wide by 187 pixels high. I would like to set it to 100 pixels wide. To do this I will simply enter "100" where it says width and the height will set itself automatically. (below) Then Click on "Resize my Image"

Now just Right-Click on "here" and select "Save Target As" and put it on your Desktop or wherever you need it.

Cropping

Due to so many different types of photo-editing software we are going to show how to resize and crop images on-line using http://www.resizr.com/ After going to resizr.com you will have an opening screen like the one below.

Follow the 2 steps above to upload the image to be cropped.

Click on "Free"

Here you have two tools to work with.
1. The Drag Tool - You can use this 4-sided tool to drag onto the image. Using this tool your image will remain square and would be useful for an avatar.
2. Expand and Contract - You can pull and push at the edges of the image to customize.

Once done, click the "Resize my image" button. From there you can copy and paste it to wherever you would like to have the image.
