Topic: RE: Post op Cranky?
OH yea, welcome to the wonderful world of moodiness LOL. For the last 2 weeks I've been grumpy, sad, depressed and irritable. I have been told that this is normal due to the psychological and physiological changes we're going through. So take a deep breath and don't kill your kids, it's not their fault its just a phase you are going through.
Keep in mind that this to shall pass.
Wish you the best!

Topic: RE: Medical right violated at hospital -long sorry
Hi,
Why not contact the medical board and file a complaint, Or at least see if you have any rights of recourse. There is also something like heppa or what ever it is called that helps protect you privacy rights as well as other rights. That might be worth a try. In either case you must consider documenting your trauma if you plan to fight them. Document by going to a Doctor and or psychiatrist to document your trauma.
Good luck, Debra

Hi Kristy,
My name is Debra I had my wls May 5th. I did well at first and lost 34 lbs. But already this past week i have came to a stand still as far as weight is concerned. And now I am so frustrated that this may be harder to reach goal than i first understood it to be. I had the open RNY. It seems i cant break through this wall I have hit for nothing. I am getting depressed that i may have gone thru all this for little of nothing. alot of times i can only eat about 3 bites of real food and it feels that it may get stuck going down and then there is the matter of getting it to stay down
staying down. How can i not lose weight? How normal is this?
Thanks, Debra

1 month 2 days post op for me...WOW! so far I've lost 28#'s! Some days I can tell and others I can't. I know in my head 28#'s is a lot of weight to lose especially in only a month. I fear I too have hit the notorious stall and am not liking it. I'm hoping after "aunt flow" leaves the scale will start tipping again. And I neeeeeed to be more consistent with exercise. I just seem to do it here and there and when I feel like it (which isn't often). I fear I get away with too much food wise as well...there are some things I can't eat, some things I won't even dare eat but lately (and maybe its "aunt flow") I've been snacking instead of eating meals. Mostly Graham crackers, pretzels, or hummus on pita bread. I've had a few episodes where food got stuck but only one dumping syndrome so far very early on. Neither one much fun.
Happy One Month Anniversary to some of you Maysters!!!
Topic: POST OP PAIN
I had bypass surgery 11 days ago. I came home from hospital 2 days after and pain was bearable and I was feeling better each day until 5 days after I was feeling a strong pulling pain on the left side of stomach. My Dr. Is telling me that it is my body reacting to my nerve endings growing back and thats why the pain wasnt there right after surgery. He since has given me shots of steriods and pain medication. Nothing is helping and the pain is always in a different place and unbearable. Did anyone else have this experience?

Topic: Post op Cranky?
I am just wondering if I am cranky because I am post op....and not really eating like I was, or if my kids were driving me nuts!
I tend to think the later, because the Mrs. and I are getting along fine....but the kids are driving me Crazy!!!!!
Now it could just be that they are 5 and 2, but I thought I would check.
It's too hot this weekend (100 degrees!), and if I am stuck in doors w/ them for 96 hours, I am not sure they will both survive the weekend! Their day care is at our local synogogue..and it's closed Monday and Tuesday for a Jewish holiday and I will be home playing Mr. Mom since I can work from home.
Topic: RE: Flying
hi Tanya,
I fly once or twice a month for my job. I make sure that I don't have a middle seat. The last time I flew, my waist was 46 inches and I didn't need a seat belt extender. It was never a problem asking for one - the flight attendants are very helpful.
You can get information about your seat on www.seatguru.com. You enter the airlines and type of aircraft and it shows you a diagram of the plane and indicates what seats are good or bad.
good luck,
Jayne
