Question:
Looking for something else to eat besides chicken, red meat

or fish for protein...Anyone have a collection of tofu recipes to share? Or website(S) I might go to for a change of pace in what I eat at 2-3 years post-op. You can email me at [email protected] if you have a collection of recipes I can follow. Someone gave me pages and pages of some recipes, but I have moved and misplaced them. I think the person's name was "Vi Fe". I hope Proximal LAP RNY 9/3/02 5'2" 265/182/115-126, Hadiyah McCutcheon, a.k.a.~~    — yourdivaness (posted on May 18, 2005)

There is a south beach diet web site that has great recipes and the Bariatriceating.com web site does as well.

shrimp, tuna, cottage cheese, morningstar farms veggie burgers, boca burgers, peanut butter, cheeses, eggs. Honestly, for protein meals you don't need any special recipes, look in any good basic cookbook, like better homes & gardens cookbook or the good old betty crocker cookbooks.

Thanks to a very wise and wonderful professor of mine who suggested these, some of my favorite cookbooks now include: The New Moosewood Cookbook, Moosewood Restaurant Low-Fat Favorites, and Vegetable Heaven by Mollie Katzen, Vegetarian Planet by Didi Emmons, and The New Vegetarian Epicure by Anna Thomas. I think they are all available through Amazon.com, although you may be able to find used copies as well. I just made some tofu for lunch today. I was craving pesto so I simply cooked it in the pesto then tossed it over a little bit of whole wheat pasta with fresh parmesan and romano cheese sprinkled on top. It was pretty good.
