Question:
Post Ops: I'm 2 yrs, 2 months and 15 days post op Proximal Lap

RNY...I had my WLS 9/3/02. In January of this year I weighed 132 lbs...Now, I'm at 162 lbs. I'm honest. I've slacked down on my exercizing and I have recently discovered that I am SERIOUSLY addicted to Jelly Belly Gourmet Jelly Beans. Mind you, I eat the sugar-free kind, but, I don't dump. Any suggestions as to what steps I need to take to get back on track? I can't seem to find my notebook with my "beginner's plan" (the one where I started liquids, then soft, then regular foods). Anyone mind sharing yours? or send me a private email? I'd appreciate it. Thanks!    — yourdivaness (posted on November 18, 2004)

I was that way on oreo cookie bars. I started gaining weight, and had to go cold turkey. Months later I ate ONE, and wondered what I thought was so good about them. I believe they arent on the market anymore, recently replaced by low carb oreos. I am under severe stress, selling my moms old house. The closing is this morning. Anyhow the stress has gotten me addicted to M&Ms:( I fear I will HAVE to go cold turkey on them too. You might get your bloodwork, our bodies sometimes crave what they are missing. If its any help at all you are not alone!

Like they say, they didn't operate on our heads. I recently got past a serious Red Hots addiction. I haven't gained, am just over 2 years out from lap RNY. I get on the scale every single day, no matter how bad I was the day before. I have lost about 5 lbs in the past 5-6 weeks (It's a miracle!) Here is my diet: avoid most food. I have coffee in the morning, plain instant oatmeal made with milk mid-morning, a salad at lunch with protein, a protein bar in the afternoon, or some fruit, then chicken, fish or beef for supper (and maybe a vegetable) and nothing after that. I work out with weights and do cardio 3 times a week, at least. (Would do it more if time allowed). I know this sounds really limited, but so far, that it is what is working for me. Now, I admit I have some other foods sometimes, but those are my basics. I guess my point is that I have tried everything else, and finally seemed to have found something that works for ME. I hope you can do the same!
