Question:
Anyone else craving watermelon

I believe that I am eating too much. How harmful is this.    — faybay (posted on June 2, 2002)

Fay, I have really been enjoying watermelon and cantaloupe. My surgeon is thrilled with my weight loss and says I'm doing everything just right. The weather is very warm here and the melon is so refreshing. Just make sure you get in a lot of protein. Melon is mostly water and will go through very quickly. I don't know how much you are eating, but I eat it a couple of times a day and am doing ok so far. Six months out and I've lost 116 pounds.

It was SO good to see someone else ask about watermelon. I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and still on full liquids. My doc said I could try some fruit as long as I "mash it up". First thing that came to mind was watermelon adn I can't get enough!!! I have no desire to eat, no hunger ever and can taste nothing, but the watermelon is fantastic.

Ok , so it just not me. Kinda thought I was getting weird here because I can't get enough of watermelon either !I would eat it all day long and nothing else if I could. Could this be from the natural sweet taste ? I put mine in a blender with a few ice cubes an several packets of Equal for the best fruit smoothie in the world !

Incredible! I passed the watermelon at the super and was intranced. It looked so good and I was never a great fan of this before. I didn't buy it because I was afraid I would swallow a seed.

I love watermelon too! I started eating it about 6 weeks post op and no problems. Sometimes I will just chew it until all there is is pulp and then I spit it out. I just can;t get enough of the taste! My surgeon also said it was just fine since I've lost 60 pounds in 7 weeks!
