Question:
What is the average length of intestines before procedure?

Just curious what percent is bypassed. Please let me know in cm. Thanks Jessica    — Jessica D. (posted on October 17, 2000)

According to the encyclopedia the small intestine is 18-22 feet long. My doc removed 150 cm, called the distal, which is about 5 ft. I'm only 4 weeks post-op and down 36 lbs. It works.
