Question:
Can you have a tummy tuck, and then have a baby?

I am only 28, and have lost 97lbs, with 80-90 to go to goal. I don't know if I'll even need a tummy tuck, but I don't have children yet, but plan on it. I have heard before that they tighten you so much that pregnancy is not possible afterwards, is this true? Or maybe I shouldn't even fool with it until after I have had children.    — Lorine L. I don't know if its true that they tighten you so tight that you are not able to have children. But why would you want to have a tummy tuck before you have children? I believe there is a chance that your stomach could stretch again. Then you will need to have another tummy tuck.

You can have babies after a tummy tuck. The issue is that you will want another one after. That was a question at my support group last night. The surgeon said that it was not advisable because it would be a waste of a good tummy tuck.

It is not true that they make your stomach so tight you can't have children! I work with a wonderful lady who had a tt and had two children. Of course not right after the TT but she does have kids post tt. She also said her stomach went back to normal. That was the reason she had the TT to begin with, she had a baby and her stomach just hung. They may recommend that you wait a while but I doubt you can't have kids because of it.

I am two weeks post tt today. You absolutely can have children after a tuck. It's true, though, that you may end up with stretched skin again. I haven't had kids yet, but for me, having the tuck now was worth it! My surgeon just didn't tighten the muscles as tight as he would for someone not planning to have children. I'm thrilled with the results! I am 26... and now I feel like it! :)
