Question:
How big does apron have to be to get covered by insurance?

How hard would it be to get insurance coverage if you have not had any rashes or back pain? My pouch is not huge, but surgeon says I need a TT. I know my insurance(BC/BS of Florida PPO) will pay if they consider it reconstructive etc. I just dont know where I fit in that scheme. Has anyone had approval, when thier pouch was not huge or they did not have rashes? thanks    — claire C. (posted on June 25, 2001)

My pannis did not hang below my pubis and I was approved with no rashes. I do have back pain, but that is from my large breasts. I was approved for abdominoplasty & mammoplasty.

I dont think there is a minimum size. Your surgeon should be able to get around the insurance. Most do cover it if u have had the gastric surgery, its not as hard to get approval for it these days. Good luck, hope this helped. S.

I'm having mine 7/31. There are four criteria that meet medical necessity - different insurance companies require that you have some or all. You can find them by searching the database. If you will email me tomorrow, I will send them to you. They are on a disk at work.
