does bcbs of florida pay for plastic surgery after WLS if necessary

I doubt it now. BCBS FL does not cover WLS anymore. You're best bet is to call our carrier and ask.

Get your benefits guide to see if it covers "reconstructive" surgery, not plastic. Plastic surgery is for cosmetic reasons, reconstructive is for medical reasons. BTW, BCBS does cover it until 1/1/05 in Florida, and will continue to cover it if the employer chooses to keep it as part of the benefits package- it is for the "self insured" group that it will be excluded after next year. Either way, you need to get your benefits guide to determine what they will cover.
