Question:
Having my hernia repaired and tt (panni) surgery next month. I am 10 lbs from goal.

How many days should I expect to be in the hospital? Thus far I have insurance approval for 1 night but my surgeon says it can be extended on a day by day basis. What has everyones experience been as far as how soon were they released from the hospital? Thanks    — Judi D. (posted on October 13, 2002)

I didn't have a hernia (typically that's outpatient surgery) but my tt was done as an outpatient. I had no problems and could have went home 12 hours sooner then I did. I would highly doubt that you would need to be in the hospital past 1 day.

I HAD A HERNIA AND TT DONE ON 9/24/02 AND I WAS OK'D FOR 1 NIGHT BUT ENDED UP STAYING TWO BECAUSE MY SUGAR WENT WAY UP AND THEY HAD TO GIVE ME INSULIN SHOTS TO BRING IT BACK ON. BEST OF LUCK AND GOD BLESS

I am having my tt and breast reduction done on Dec. 2nd. and I have been approved for 1 day also, but my insurance company said they go day by day, so If I need more then the doctor would just have to call, that's how they did it for the wls too, I was approved for 2 days for that and I ended up staying for 7 days. post-op 02-27-02 --140 pounds --91 inches and wearing size 6s and 8s. down from 3xs and 26/28s
