Question:
Isopure And Water

Ok. Perhaps a stupid question here. I can't tolerate any of the protein shakes! Up until today I couldn't tolerate Isopure. But, I found Isopure in Blue Raspberry and I really enjoy it! Yeah! Now, here's my problem: It's a daily struggle for me to get 64 oz of water in a day. Then, trying to get 20 oz of Isopure in a day---well, let's just say I'm positive it's going to be impossible for me right now. So, can anyone tell me if drinking the 20 oz of Isopure actually contributes to my 64 oz of water? Or does the Isopure not count as water--therefore I have to drink all the water and the Isopure?    — Kristin R. (posted on January 22, 2002)

Good news! Your protein drink counts in your daily fluid total. Here's more good news -- it doesn't have to be all water for that 64 oz total. Anything that is liquid at room temperature (jello, broth, popsicle) counts. So do things like Crystal Light.

Let me just clarify, as someone kindly pointed out that I may not have been clear in my previous post. The liquid does not have to be at room temperature to count toward the total. The idea is that a food counts toward liquid intake if it passes the "room temperature test": ie, if left out on the kitchen counter, it turns to a liquid. Doesn't matter that when you eat it ( frozen popsicle or cold jello, for example) it's a solid or semi-solid. Sorry for any confusion! Aloha.
