Question:
Has anyone ever used herbal tinctures to get their vitamins and iron?

Does anyone have any experience with this? I've used these folks before and wrote to them to ask about iron, vitamin B12, and vitamin D supplementation, and also for any suggestions of how to deal with the wild mood swings that come as your fat cells let all that estrogen fly. Here's the reply I got. I'd be interested in any real-life experience or information. I've used their tinctures before and they seem to be of very high quality. I like them because the liquid formula is easily and quickly absorbed under the tongue. Thanks! Motherwort is a great tincture to quickly balance emotional mood swings. 'Yellowdock Plus' is our herbal iron formula, which is also a non-constipating, very assimilable form of iron. It contains yellowdock root, dandelion root, and nettles. Nettles would be a good herb to take- tincture or tea form. It, along with alfalfa, contains B12, vit D, and iron. One of the few plant sources of B12 and vit D. You can also try liquid chlorophyll for a great source of these nutrients. It is a great blood builder with all the nutrients you are looking for. I take it every day (it comes from alfalfa). Try mint flavored. It is very tasty. Plain is not so good. I would also suggest you look into a liver cleansing product. The liver is the organ that helps eliminate excess estrogen from your body. Look at our website, www.motherlove.com, under plants and you will get info on motherwort, nettles, yellowdock, alfalfa, etc. And under products for more info on 'Motherwort', 'Yellowdock Plus', and 'Dandelion/Milk Thistle Blend'. Thank you for your inquiry. And I wish you well with your upcoming surgery. Respectfully, Kathryn Cox Motherlove herbal company    — Julia Z. (posted on June 12, 2001)
