Question:
Has anyone heard of Blind Loop Syndrome following wls?

My doctor told me this is a chronic condition of the loop that is left by the RNY. Does anyone have any info about this? He was also concerned about liver failure so if you have anything about that I would appreciate any replies. Thanks.    — Jeanne P. (posted on September 25, 2000)

I've been diagnosed w/ blind loop syndrome...only time will tell what will happen...My symptoms are bloating...oily stool, very fould smelling gas all the time...diarihha....the good news is that a very low maintenance dose of antibiotics seems to relieve the problem...I just don't know what will happen if I have to be on antibiotics the rest of my life...I know I can live normally now by taking a very small dose of antibiotics every day....
