Question:
Do you live in the North Sacramento area?

I'm 8 months post-op and am planning to move to Rio Linda, CA. I see 2 doctors listed in the directory (one in Roseville and the other in Sacramento), but I would like to hear from you. Please tell me about your surgeon. How does he or she do with post-op checkups? Does he/she have a nutritionist to talk to? Website? Do you belong to a support group through your Doctor's office, and how helpful is it?    — Laurie C. (posted on August 3, 2003)

Well hi there and welcome to our area~ I live in the Roseville area. Dr. Donald Waldrep is with the Sutter medical group. Dr. Waldrep also has a wonderful support group that has several different meetings monthly. The Dr. office web site is www.salsa.md You may also try the support group’s local online support, which is [email protected]. As far as local PCP who are knowledgeable in the wls area there are several. I guess it depends on your insurance and how far you're willing to travel. Please feel free to email me and I will help you out where I can. I had my surgery in Auburn (about 30/40 minutes north of Sacramento) almost 3 months ago by an awesome doctor; Dr. Jeffery Jenkins who also runs a local support group on a monthly basis. Kaiser has a local group, as does UC Davis. Good luck on your move and I sure hope you like the heat!

Hi there. I also live in North Sacramento. My surgeon is Dr. Waldrep too! He's awesome. I highly recommend him. My PCP is Dr. Lorna Adolfo. Her office is right next to Dr. Waldrep's. Her office sees many gastric bypass patients. They are both located in Roseville, which is about a 20 minute drive.
