Was eating pureed meats and other foods as gross as it sounds?

I am a little over 3 weeks post op (8/15) and I still eat alot of pureed, however, have now started eating anything I want. During the first 3 wks, I ate: Crm of Potato soup w/ a little grated cheese, refried beans, black bean soup, scrambled eggs (everyday), Jello SF Choc Pudding, ricotta cheese, mashed potatoes...Anything in the world canbe made puree...Its not as bad as it sounds. Good Luck!

I have to say that I never pureed anything. During that stage I stuck to mushier foods like Mashed potatoes with gravy, ff refried beans with cheese, cottage cheese baked with spaghetti sauce ect.. Once I started on tuna or moist chicken I just ate teeny tiny bites and chewed it to death! I couldn't stand the thought of eating baby food or pureeing it! Good Luck!

My surgeon says there are 2 ways to puree. Thew blender or cut everything into pencil eraser sized bits andd chew to death. Thats what I did and it works fine.

I'm with BJ and Bob. During the liquid phase I lived on popsicles and ICE water. But I absolutely could not bare the thought of pureed foods, especially the meats. After all, everything tastes and smells like sh## for the first 3 or 4 months anyway. So I decided I'd chew the daylights out of everything I ate.... and to "liquidfiy it in my mouth". I had NO PROBLEMS at all this way. The only problem was DISCIPLINING myself NOT to swallow before it was liquid. However I did'nt want anymore health problems, so I did it. Then once I accidently saw my surgeon outside of the hospital. He asked how I was doing and I did'nt lie. I said fine, but I could'nt do the pureed thing. I was waiting for a "floggen to the noggen". However he did'nt seem to concerned when I mentioned pureeing foods by chewing. Phew. What a relief. I would have starved before I'd eat pureed meat any other way! (I'm a fussy eater- don't know how I got so big) ;)
