How about some flavorings? I haven't used it yet.. but maybe things like pineapple and coconut to make a pina colada? orange flavoring? walnut butter rum? There are many great flavorings out there.. they might help.

I don't take the protein shakes...but I was just thinking about things I would try to experiment with. I would use milk and add the Sugar free oreo's (Murray's brand tastes the best, I think). Make like a cookies and cream shake. Although you said the OJ isn't that great...maybe if you added strawberries and some splenda on top of the oj. What about the sugar free syurps (like the chocolate and strawberry nestle) or sugar drink flavors (like strawberry, peach, raspberry, etc). Also, just to tell you...early post-op when I forced myself to eat the protein shakes (designer whey brand), I froze it and ate it like ice cream. Anyways, hope this helps. Luck~

A little tip...add 1-2 tbs. of SF FF pudding (the powder) to the shake or some SF FF cool whip or a couple of tbs. yogurt whatever flavor you like). Then blend with some ice. It makes it thicker and tastes more like a milk shake. My personal fav is ProBlend 55 mocha cappucino protein powder, mixed with water, a splash of FF milk, vanilla pudding, 1/2 banana and some ice. That's breakfast for me...yummy and filling.

I mix the desighner whey coc. and strawberry together.1/2 and 1/2, and use FF milk , instead of H2O, and shake it w/ice. I have to have it as cold as possible.

Which one? Vanilla Praline or French Vanilla? Did you try half can of diet orange pop? Or diet root beer? I never use milk, but some will add PB or a few banana slices or fruit slices, blended & I always add ice for cold & for texture. I use the Designer Whey Protein- Choc and Van. I use about 1/3 cup of cold water, 4-5 ice cubes and if I'm using Vanilla- 2 scoops of vanilla and a couple of frozen strawberries. If I use the choc then I use half a frozen banana. I blend it til smooth and then I add a couple more ice cubes just to thicken it a little more. Comes out really good.
