BC - has anyone dealt with blue cross and shield of fl and did they pay

Yes! I was told it would take 4-6 weeks, but I was approved in 6 days with no problems. My BMI is 45.6 and I have high B/P and acid reflux. I wrote a long letter along with letters from several doctors. I just used the sample letter I found on this website under "Your Journey." I hope this helps.

Duh! Sorry, I didn't realize you were asking about skin reduction. I thought it was for the surgery. I have no idea if they pay for that, but I've been told you have to prove it's a medical condition and people have sent pictures in of their sagging skin and that seems to help. I will be interested to know the answer to this myself. Thanks.

It will help to have documentation of any medical problems the excess skin is causing you. If you get a bad rash because of it, go to your doctor and make sure it is in your chart. Do that EVERY time, so there is documentation. Same is true if you are having infections, back paid or anything else that is probably caused by the excess skin. Make sure that all of that is documented by your physician. Good luck.
