Question:
Does anyone else experience blood in there bowel movements. Alot of it?
I had surgery on Monday. Came home on Wednesday. It is AThursday and have had 5 bm's full of old blood. Called my doctor and he said it was normal. Has anyone else experiecned this. I feel fine. Alot of hot flashes and muscle pain but no light headedness. BM's usually accompany an attack of gas pains. Noone at work who has had the surgery has edperiencd this. Melanie:
It is normal to have some old blood in your stools right after surgery.
You did the right thing calling your Dr! As long as he said it was ok,
don't worry about it! I starting having bloody stools almost two months
after surgery. Turned out I had a GI bleed (marginal ulcer) If it doesn't
stop, or is bright red, or increases, call your Dr again!! Good Luck,

Been there done that...Gosh I forgot about it until I read your post. Yes
it is a normal thing....What happens is the old blood from the procedure
gets expeld and it may take a few weeks. But it does go way. Good to call
your Dr. on anything you are unsure of....even pains. You just never know
and its good to always touch base with them to be sure its nothing serious.
Good luck with your journey. Remember to drink!
