Hi Carla, I have had similar problems. My active BP is 111/66, my sedentary BP can be lower. My Dr doesn't have me on meds to keep my BP up, but she did tell me to drink a glass of red wine every few days. For some reason it helps to increase your BP. I wouldn't do it if you are on meds though. My labs have been fine, but I get light headed and pass out for 2 other reasons. 1. I have Vaso-Vagal Syndrome. I know the signs so I lay down immediately regardless of where I am. Laying down stops me from passing out. 2. Hypoglycemia. If I do something dumb like eat something with too many fats, my BP suddenly drops and I sometimes pass out for a few seconds until I am laying down. If you are weak, I would follow up with your PCP and possibly another Dr. Perhaps a cardiologist. Best wishes, Maggie B 4/03 283/170

Hi Carla, I'm sure you've probably already tried this. But occassionally when I have symptoms such as yours (mine have not been quite a extreme)but, I realize I have been 'bad' with my water consumption. Once I drink more water it's amazing how many things are improved with my health. Such as the symptoms you described. Just a thought, best of luck!

Have you had labs lately? Besides your blood pressure it could be your electrolytes could be low ie potassium, magnesium, dont delay get to your pcp and get this checked out. This could also be a sign of dehydration. Good luck to you.

Carla, I have/am experiencing the same thing. It's odd though, it comes and goes...I will have these symptoms for a few months and then it will go away for a few months, then back again. The last time I visited the doctor for this they felt it was due to my BP (80/60 at that visit, it has since normalized) It was suggested that I drastically increase my fluid intake. (didn't really help) I also am on the low side of B-12 (400 range) despite my monthly injections which we have recently decided to increase. My only advice is to keep visiting the doctor and try eveything you can. Sorry I can't be of more help.

It sounds alittle like low potassium. If so, it is very dangerous. (Read my profile for around July 2001 for my low potassium scare). Do see a doctor and get a blood test to check for electrolites ESPECIALLY for potassium. By the way, I too have low blood pressure (80/40 at times).
