I had chicken broth, jello, juices, and popcicles. Then I started blending up canned soups. Even ones like steak and potato or ham and beans. They were wonderful because I was craving proteins. It is like eating gravy but it tastes really good. I also ate cottage cheese, apple sauce, blended up broccili and cauliflour and green beans, and smoothies made from all kinds of frozen fruits w/sugar free vanilla yogart. I also "suffered" through protein shakes for a couple of weeks. The taste of the whey in them just really got to me. Slimfast now has sugar free shakes also, and they are not too bad. They taste a little too sweet, but not bad. I hope this helps you. Use your imagination and many things can be blended up and be pretty good.

Back at that stage I did No-Sugar-Added Carnation Instant Breakfast with 1/3 cup of powdered milk added, broth, pureed soups, hot tea, jello, lots of water, sugar free popsicles (Popsicle brand is the best). Sorry, but liquid does allow for much more variety than that.

Congratulations, Postie! I really liked V-8, Hot and Spicy V-8 and Snappy Tom (all allowed by my surgion at my 1 week check-up). I got awfully sick of sweet stuff and they just about saved my sanity! Of course, check your surgeon's requirements. I also tolerated my protein drink - ProComplex mixed with skim milk but many people have trouble so newly post-op tolerated the milk sugar and the taste. My only requirement for the protein drink was that it didn't make me hurl. It took me all day to get about two-thirds of it down though. Good luck - it get easier!! Bette
