I use 'Ditropan XL'. Works great. See your PCP or an Urologist.

Hi, I had over active bladder too and went to see a urologist, and he put me on Detrol LA! It worked wonderfully and doesn't cause dry mouth either. So you might want to ask about that and I think your pcp can prescribe that for you too! Good Luck to You!

I was taking Detrol LA before the surgery, but stopped as I knew that I wouldn't be able to take it as it's a sustained release medicine, and doesn't completely absorb. Either way it was a really nice break to not have to pee 4 thousand times a day!

what is usually prescribed 4 an overactivebladder? I tried all the pills and to no avail. Weight loss was what my doc 'prescribed' for me last. The more I lose the better my control becomes. Amazing. Do you still have alot to lose or ???

I did not have an overactive bladder before wls. In the last two months, I am having real problems with this. My PCP put me on dextrol. It doesn't seem to be helping. I have actually had several wetting accidents. It is so unsettling that I have started carrying extra clothes with me just in case. Yall, I am scared.

My PCP prescribed Detrol LA and it worked wonderfully. I did get dry mouth for a little while then it went away. I have noticed that since the surgery it doesn't seem to last as long-I'm sure it is the time release thing. So on my own I have increased to twice daily. I plan on checking with the doctor about this at my regular appointment. I had no tests prior to getting the prescription. It was awesome to not have to pee every hour at night! Good luck! Hi... Usually urodynamic studies will confirm an overactive bladder (they put fluid into your bladder and watch how your bladder reacts....how full it gets before you sense the urge to go, etc. Usual meds are Ditropan or Detrol
