Question:
Has anyone had throbbing pain in your pouch?

I just started having this sudden throbbing pain in my pouch. Sometimes it is after I eat, sometimes it is out of the blue. I have it now and also am feeling like someone sucked the energy out of me, plus my head feels like it stuffed full of cotton, and I have had a migraine for the last two days. Maybe it is coincidence the throbbing has occurred with these other symptoms, which it never did beforel. Maybe heat has induced the other symptoms, but the throbbing pouch is irritating by itself, much less with these other new symptoms. Anyone have any idea what it is? Just FYI, I had open rny on 1/13/03 and have lost 105 pounds up till two months ago, and since then I have gained four pounds which I have lost again. I think my body and I are messed up somehow....really feel like dirt. thanks gang. Melanie in Oklahoma City    — Melanie H. (posted on July 15, 2003)

It could be an ulcer. I'm supposed to be scoped to check, but I've been through so many medicial proceeders that I'm really scared at "this one". So I'm putting it off which I know is no good. Funny, sometimes the pain is excruciating for 3-4 hours. But if I take a Nexium right when it starts, it quits. So perhaps mine is an ulcer. We both should look into it huh? ;)

I hope you feel better soon! Have you called your Dr. or PCP? I live in Norman, so I know how bad the heat is in OKC--it has been over 100 degrees for several days. The kids and I go out before noon, but stay in as much as possible after that, because it's just too hot to be out. Keep hydrated! I've sent you a personal email, so maybe I'll see you at the support meeting at Mercy soon. Caryn pre-op open RNY 10-16-03
