Question:
Please tell me this will end!

I am almost 9 months post-op RNY, down 99 lbs. and very pleased. However, beginning at month 7, I began having diarrhea on a frequent basis. It is accompanied by urgency. I saw my surgeon on Tuesday who referred me to a gastroenterologist. He prescribed Lomotil and wants to run tests. Have others experienced this and what could the tests reveal?    — ZaZa F. If he has ordered a stool specimen to be sent to the lab, he will and should probably test you for H-Pylori. Very treatable with antibiotics, but can be persistant. Other tests may be done just to "rule out" problems....good luck !

I also have had this from time to time. Also had IBS before surgery. I take liquid Imodium or Lomotil for flare ups and it seems to work well.

Just wondering if perhaps you have increased the amount of fat that you're getting in your diet because that will do it!
