Question:
Is it normal to become sensitive to foods I have eaten in the past?

I am 6 months post-op and I have noticed that I have problems with water, and some foods that I could normally eat or drink before are now bothering me , is this normal? also, I also noticed that since I stopped sipping water during meals, I get full very quickly, which makes me feel much better, cause I know my pouch is still small, I could use some help telling me how to get off this darn platuau , I exercise everyday, and do very little carbs, what else can I do to get the weight loss started again? I have about 30 more pounds to go for my goal!!!    — bikerchic (posted on August 28, 2002)

hello! yes it is totally normal for me it seems to be cyclic (sp?) like i went through about 2 months where high fructose corn syrup (bbq sauce, ketchup) made me dump even tho i only used a small amount however now it doesn't bother me at all there are still some foods that bug my system such as waffles...? don't know why but i just don't eat them. i'll try them again in a few months. i go through periods where for several weeks i CRAVE certain foods - mandarin oranges, ham/cheese sandwiches, tuna salad...right now i'm on a high protein salad kick for lunch (little lettuce, cheese, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, one slice cucumber, hard boiled egg, sliced ham and turkey with ranch dressing) experiment and try lots of new stuff...i love www.allrecipes.com and there are online gastric bypass recipe groups on yahoo and msn good luck! kate open rny 6-14-01 pre op: 268lbs goal weight: 135lbs current weight: 130lbs
