Question:
Anyone know if Mass Health in the state Of Ma covers?

I looked through the questions and answers but didn't see anything related to Mass health in the state of Mass. At the time of my gastric bypass in 1999, I had insurance to cover the procedure. I am now in the process of trying to get Mass Health. Does anyone know if they cover any cosmetic procedures due to weight loss from this surgery? I was 227 before surgery and am now at 115. I want to find out if I would be covered for a TT and breast implants/lift (I was a 40dd and now 34b).I'm thinking they may not because I had different ins. when I had my bypass, but If anyone knows, please email me at: [email protected]. Thank you!!!    — [Deactivated Member] (posted on March 20, 2002)

You might try calling them to find out. Also, most insurance doesn't cover cosmetic surgery. Reconstructive but no cosmetic. What this means is they are more likely (thought not guaranteed) to cover when there is a medical reason for it. For example, if you have an apron that is causing back problems, rashes or skin infections, trouble walking because it swings when you walk or something similar, it's more likely to cover.
