Question:
Does any one have an idea what could be causing abdomen pain at a year post op?

1 year post op 100 pounds down... however the past 3 days whenever I eat anything I am experiencing fairly severe pain in my upper right abdomen. It feels like a burning charlie horse. I do not have a fever or nausea. I have contacted my surgeron, and am waiting to hear.    — [Anonymous] (posted on June 19, 2001)

Just a guess, but have you had your gallbladder removed? I understand that gallbladder attacks are very painful. Good luck to you...I hope your surgeon is able to help.

I hate to tell you, but I am fairly sure you have gall stones. I am going through the exact thing. It only gets worse. Especially after a meal with heavy grease or fat. I am scheduled to have my gb removed on the 16th of July. I have really suffered. Each attack gets harder and longer. Of course if you are over eating then that will also cause pain. But it sounds like gall bladder. Call your doc for an ultrasound. Good luck.

I have to agree with the previous answers. I too think you may be having a gall bladder attack. After losing 50lbs on Phen-Fen I had the same burning charlie horse feeling in my upper right abdomen. I had to have my gall bladder removed. Good Luck!!

Oh my Goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I am on here looking to see if anyone has had these same pains. I am nearing 6 months post-op and 100lbs down. I have spent hours in the ER and no luck!! Can anyone refer me to Dr. in Maryland or Delaware that know about this. My Dr. is clueless and gave up! It is so conforting to know I am not the only one.

sounds like a hernia to me. I have one and I am just past my first year post op. Plan to have it repaired when I have my plastic surgery. I have lost 145 lbs & am close to goal.

I'm a year and a half post op, and I have had my gallbladder out and am also have these pains they radiate into your back between shoulder blades just like a gallbladder attack,I think it's a combination of gas and constipation, seems like I get it after going a few days not eating right, (too little or too much of the wrong stuff), I take maalox and after several uncomfortable days it goes away. It gets so bad that it wakes me up, I was afraid it was a twisted intestine or something, but no one can give me an answer
