my job is in virginia and we have bc/bs care first

Hi. I'm not in Virgina but my husband's company is based there and we have BCBS-Carefirst. I just wanted to tell you to make sure your surgeon puts down your request under the right code of "MORBID OBESITY". Otherwise they will not allow it. But with that one code for m.o. they will. Sorry I'm not much help. :)

I'm in DC and I have Carefirst. If you go to Westlaw, (a legal search engine) you can probably find it. Also, most state legislations have online components where you can research specific bills. Any if you go to Carefirst.com, and search, you can pull up the actual bill number. (I'm in law school, so I've done this a lot!) Hope this helps! p.s. Did they deny you?

Hi. I have BC/BS Care first and live in Virginia. The approval process was less than 2 weeks and all paperwork was submitted by the surgeon. The surgeon said that BC/BS is the easiest insurance of all to get approved. As long as the surgery is medically necessary, BMI above 40, and a history of trying lots of other diets, your OK.
