Question:
Not losing much..will it change???

I am almost 4 weeks out from surgery, have lost 13lbs and I'm extremely upset. I understand we all lose differently, but I am eating very little (still on pureed) and mostly protein. I walk constantly and drink water. It's hard to think I went through this to lose so slowly or not at all it seems. Will this change or am I stuck with slow weight loss???    — Mandy M. Your body is figuring out what to do next. It is in it's transitional stage. It is figuring out that you are not going to give it what it is used to. Just wait, I bet next week you will lose 10 lbs. Try not to weigh. Put your scales in the trunk of your car. Stay the course! Good Luck

See you like milk, how many cups a day are you drinking? Any other high calorie drinks like fruit juice? Too much of either of these can slow your weight loss.

Mandy, Get out the tape measure. Even if you're not losing the weight you'll be losing the inches. I plateaued for 6 weeks but I lost 10 1/2". I average over 10" per month. I'll take that anyday! So, you're body's just adjusting to the surgery. Hang in there. You'll lose when you're body's ready. Just keep track of those inches!!!

I lost an extremely large amount of weight fairly quickly and I have been hovering at 157-159 for about 6 weeks now. During that same time, I have gone from a size 14 to a 12. Which, to me my actual weight is not what matters. I am looking to be in a size 10. I don't really care what the scale says. I bet you have been losing inches during this time. I rarely weigh anymore, I just go with my surgery and know that it's working for me. Hope you can, too. Shelley

I know exactly how you feel, EXACTLY! The same thing is happening to me. I feel as though I've gone through this surgery and painful recovery period for NOTHING! No matter what I've tried over the years to lose weight not even this is helping me and I'm following my written instructions to the T. i'M VERY UNHAPPY with my results.
