Have you seen an infection control specialist? Have you discussed with your primary care provider the idea of seeing an infection control specialist or an immunologist? If it runs in your family, you might have an autoimmune problem or some other familial trait that leaves you subject to infections. I am a nurse who has autoimmune problems throughout my family.

Dear Sara~ I may have your answer. Have you ever heard of tea tree oil? It is an essencial oil that the British and Austrailian soldiers carried with them in WWII. It has many properties, (6 or 7 I think) but it is naturally fungisidal, naturally antiseptic,(kills germs such as staph, strep and eccoli) and it's VERY penitrating; so penterating in fact, that if you put a drop of it on the skin just below your outer lip, you'll taste it in your mouth in 20 seconds! There's a company called Melaleuca and they sell many, many different items...they have a ecofriendly cleaning line, a bath and body line, a make up line....etc. but 80% of their product has the tea tree oil in it. I'm a customer myself and I wouldn't have anything else in my home around my 21 month old. Their web site is melaleuca.com. Also, to verify what I've said about the tea tree oil (also known as Melaleuca oil as it's derived from the Melaleuca tree) do a search on any of your search engines and you'll get a wealth of info on it. I really hope this gets to you and helps you. ~Best Regards, Sarah Whitaker

Have you thought about having a stool test to see if you have a problem with over-colonized yeast in your system? I have been battling urinary tract infections for over a year and everytime the doctor would give me antibiotics. Everytime I came of the antibiotic, I'd have a repeat UTI. I had other symptoms like feeling lousy, numbness of my fingers, coating on my tongue, spots before my eyes, itchy skin, etc., etc. No doctor EVER mentioned that it could all be yeast related until I had a MAJOR vaginal yeast infection. Still no indication from the doctor that it could cause such absolute misery and just might be causing the infections as well but I started my own research. I had an entire list of symptoms and when I started researching, ALL of them could be the result of yeast overgrowth. Doctor's know it happens because some of them automatically prescribe a nystatin or anti-fungal medication when they prescribe antibiotics. According to my research, when yeast gets totally out of control in the digestive system, it begins to leak thru into the rest of the body (known as leaky gut) and can wreak havoc with the body. I went to the health food store and got the MOST powerful non-prescription stuff I could get and tripled everything and now, just seven days later, ALL they symptoms have cleared up and I feel wonderful. Yeast overgrowth is apparently really common in people who eat a lot of refined carbs and then put a repeated course of antibiotics on top of that which allows the yeast in the digestive system to flourish because it kills all the controls, and you have a setup for a really miserable experience. I'd recommend that you do some research on "candida" on the internet and see if you have any of the symptoms then do a simple test. Go to the health food store and get a candida cleansing system, use it religiously, then see what happens. The staph infections may be happening as a result of weakened immune systems which happens when the yeast takes over. Good luck on finding the answer.
