Question:
Have to have balloon done

5 weeks out and have to have upperendoscope.just over night and cant eat. anyone else had this done so soon. have to be there 7:00 am tomorow.    — matt C. (posted on May 28, 2002)

I had to have an endoscopy around the same time. Turned out it wasn't a stricture but I have developed an ulcer in the intestine where it joins my new pouch. (I just had this done last week) Don't worry..the endoscopy isn't that bad. They drug you up and it's over before you know it.

Hospital called me today to let me know I'm having the endoscopy done this friday at 11am. For me, I'm tired of throwing up and I look sooooo forward to this. Good luck!

I hope that's what will help me also. I'm only 2 weeks post, but have not been able to keep anything down. I ended up in the ER yesterday for the 3rd time. Probably the worst is they had to pump me full of potassium IV since I can't keep the oral stuff down. I'm not even chomping at the bit to quit clear liquids. I just want to be able to swallow a couple of bites of jellow or tea and know it won't come back up in a hour or 10. I've heard it's not all that bad. Good luck.

I just had my second baloon dilation today (5 weeks post-op) and I had my second 3.5 weeks post-op. I also need to go back next week just in case. The procedure is pretty easy actually. The worst part is the IV...once you get past that, its a cake walk. Good luck!

Sorry about that...it should say that I had the first one at 3.5 wks and the 2nd one today (5 weeks).
