Question:
cholesterol concern

There was a questioned posed to LONG TIMERS being on so much protein, ever have a cholesterol problem, I'm afraid I missed the answer. Though the replies were good, I have a concern because I had just lowered by cholesterol to 163 with a vegan and now I am eating lots of eggs, cheese and meat again.    — edna C. Hi, from what I was told from my dietician, is that high protein will lower your cholesteral. The reason being, is that when you are on high protein and very little carbs, our bodies use the protein as a fat/fuel burner rather than it going thru our system and clogging our arteries. My cholesteral went from 203 to 163 in about a month after surgery, and I eat a ton of cheese. I eat eggbeaters instead of real eggs and I eat alot of fish. Good luck.-Jen rny-3/18/02 -36 lbs
