Question:
Underarm skin burning with dipilitories?

Since my open rny in Feb. I get "burned" every time I try to use Neat or Nair to remove my underarm hair. I have little "tics" under my arms so I am unable to use a shaver. Any idea why this is happening or how to fix the problem. Presently, I use a large layer of vaseline around the area to keep the burning to a minimum. I only leave the lotion on a min or two and it starts burning. Hope someone can help.    — Doris R. (posted on September 28, 2001)

I would suggest, now it is painful but works wonders. Go to a salon and have your underarms waxed!! The hair is gone SMOOTH for weeks. Good Luck

I'm not a doctor; but, it's highly unlikely that your problem has anything to do with your wls. As a lontime user of both products, I think you should read the labels. Both Nair ans Neet have been reformulated and you only leave them on for 4 minutes now. Are you leaving it on too long? Also if you have abrasions don't use any dipilatory until the abrasion have completely healed.

i use the new 4 minute formulas also & i make sure not to apply the stuff until i know that in 2 minutes, not 4, i can jump right into the shower water & GET IT OFF! so in other words i run my shower first before applying the goop. i have extremely sensitive skin & am allergic to even non allergenic products. even after 2 minutes my legs r burnt by the dipilatory & i will tell u how i handle that but u have to promise & swear not to laff! i keep lots of chap stick on hand because i found it to be one of the best 'topical skin healers' i have ever used. REALLY! yes its expensive but it really really works! honestly. i roll up the chapstick to an amount i think i will need & then use the cap to scrape it off the top. i then put the amount in the palm of my hand & rub at it with a finger until it is really soft & almost gooey. i then apply it to the affected area. it feels sooooo good. & my skin abrasion, scratch, hive etc. heals within the day. try it!!!
