Question:
Can loose skin in pubic area cause multiple UTI??

I have had several UTIs in the past few months. Doc gives me antibiotics and they clear up for a while but return. I am doing everything right, drinking, and personal hygine. I honestly feel my pannus and loose mons skin is contributing, either not allowing the bladder to empty or decreasing air flow. I am waiting to hear from my ins about panni. I hope that is my answer! I have alot of loose skin down there too. Thankfully no UTI's but because of decrease air flow I'm iching my skin almost raw at times. I wish I could get insurance coverage for surgery because of it. Seems I could but my doctor does'nt want to try for it. Anywho for UTI's try putting hydrogen peroxide "down there". Thanks to another surgery 10 years ago (not WLS) I was having constant UTI's. I decided for some reason to try HP and for me it worked. 10 years with no more trips to the urologist! :) HP works wonders for me anyway.

I'm wondering if you are not actually getting rid of the UTI. Could it be the same one that you are treating but not quite curing?

OMG YES... I had CHRONIC UTI's and Yeast infections with my loose mons pubic pad. Mine was so bad that I had to lift up the pubic pad just to pee because it was cutting the flow of urine way down. I FINALLY got my tummy tuck and pubic lift so now I can pee hands free! I have not had a UTI now for 6 months since my surgery... Plastics were medically necessary for me but insurance would not cover it. My yeast infections were so bad that instead of one tiny diflucan pill I had a BOTTLE because it saved me trips to the doc every time. On my profile I have an address typed near my latest entry and if you cut and paste the link you can see how bad my pubic area was before plastics. Not many people talk about this so I try to make an effort and get the word out that it is a problem.
