Question:
Has anyone ever gone to Mexico for surgery?

I was wondering if anyone has had their surgery done in Mexico by Dr Joya? And if so how did you get your fills for the lap-Band? Is there doctors here that will do the fills or would it be better to get the RnY? PLEASE HELP....... Thanks, Mary    — Bossladie (posted on September 4, 2005)

I went to Mexico but I had Open RNY with Dr. Alejandro Aguirre. He is in Ensenada, MX. Great doctor. That was 2 years ago. I'm below goal. Size 6, no complications. Loving life. I also went to Mexico for plastics. I highly recommend it if you do your research and talk to many, many people who have used your surgeon. Dr. Aguirre has a patient forum on obesityhelp.com where you can contact others who have been to him. Maybe Dr. Joya has one too. Best of luck! Email questions to me. Paula

I HAD SURERY IN ENSENADA BY DR. AGUIRRE ALSO. HE IS WONDERFUL. HE ONLY DOES OPEN RNY. I CHOSE RNY BECAUSE I AM A SWEET EATER. WITH THE BAND I COULD STILL EAT SWEETS AND I WAS AFRAID I WOULD NOT BE SUCCESSFUL. AT LEAST WITH RNY I WOULD BE PUNISHED WITH DUMPING SYNDROME IF I EAT TOO MUCH SURGER. MY TWIN SISTER IS THINKING OF HAVING LAPROSCOPIC RNY BY DR. JOYA. I HEAR HE IS A GOOD DR.
