Question:
3 and 1/2 months post-op lipo, and I have a swollen lump all of a sudden!

I am 3 and 1/2 months post-op lipo on my thighs, hips, and lower buttocks. I went on vacation last week and spent one day doing quite a bit of walking, and noticed at the end of the day I had a large lump on my lower right hip. It was larger than an egg, and quite firm. Is this a seroma? Has anyone else had this happen? I'm wearing my binder again to try to get it to go down. It's been four days now. Anyone?    — raye (posted on November 9, 2004)

That's unusual esp. after 3 months...could be a seroma or if it bruises up or discolors a small blood clot. Pain or redness especially over one of the incisions could be an infection. I would watch it a few days and get an ultrasound, then drain it if it were fluid.
