I use Hemorrhoid wipes when I go to the bathroom, they are made by the same people that make hemmorrhoid medication and you can find them anywhere, the grocery store, walmart, drug store, they put a soothing medication right on the spot, it helps me alot.

Its important to stay regular! Things moving freely minimizes your problem. Have you tried adding fibre and some oil to your eating? Both of these will elp keep things moving, minimizing straining and hemmroid formation.

ALERT! Hemmoroid medicine can make high blood pressure pills ineffective as a good friend found out. Prep H packaging warns of this... His BP went thru the roof!

You might have an anal fissure- I developed one, on top of hemmorhoids- now I use 2-4 colace and Fibercon every day- this along with a cup of hot coffee in the am, keeps me moving smoothly. It was extremely painful- i was prescribed nitroglycerin cream and lidocaine, neither helped! I really feel for ya!

Cut a wash cloth into quarters, an old one. After a very painful movement I clean myself very well with paper, then I wet a section of the wash cloth with cold water. Fold the cloth to form a tube shape, then place it over the area where it hurts (between the cheeks). This is unconventional but free and it works great. When I need to, I wet it again. Get the water as cold as you can. If I am not at home I use baby wipes in the same way.

I'm in the same situation....I had hemorrhoids when I was pregnant with my daughter 9 years ago and never had one since until now.I'm 4 months out from surgery and have lost 74 pounds so I'm at 200 pounds. For the past 3 days I have had a hemorrhoid from hell. It's very external and it will not respond to the numerous over the counter meds that I have tried. As a matter of fact it jusy gets bigger and more painful.I have no clue as to what brought it on as I'm not constipated and am not having a problem in that area.I really don't want to have to make a doctor appointment over a stubborn hemorrhoid.

I wound up having to go to my doctor, too. He prescribed prescription strength Anusol and I was pain-free within 2 days. You have no other choice at this point except to see your dr. Also try sitting on a soft pillow when you are at work (but NOT a donut cushion).
